More Ways to Help ReBoot

So you've written all the letters you can, and yet you still manage to have free time? Don't worry, I can fix that.

It's important for us fans to keep up support for ReBoot if we want to see new episodes made. Remember that the more people who show their loyalty to ReBoot now, the better our chances are of seeing another made-for-TV movie or fifth season. (Remember: you don't really need sleep as much as you need ReBoot! It's a scientific fact!)

Here's a list of other ways you can help support ReBoot:

  • Try other addresses Before you stop writing letters, make sure you've written to all of the relevant network-type people you can find addresses for.

  • Thank-yous are nice, too If you haven't written YTV just to say "thanks" for all they did to make the fourth season possible, that's definitely something to consider. You may also want to thank anyone else you feel is helping ReBoot out.

  • Message boards & fan forums Use common sense to decide if it's appropriate to discuss ReBoot in whatever fan forums and message boards you frequent. If it is, discuss away. Of course, this helps the most when you're not just preaching to the converted. General forums for cartoons, sci-fi/fantasy, etc. might be better places to catch the attention of people who aren't ReBoot fans yet. Always be polite and make sure you understand the group before you just barge in screaming "REBOOT ROCKS!" We certainly don't want Booters getting a bad name for being rude.

  • Recruit new fans Does your best friend like just about everything you do? Get them to watch ReBoot! Convert your friends, family members, and pretty much anyone else you can. Then you can make them write a million letters.

  • Use the media Do you have a favorite entertainment news show, sci-fi/fantasy news website, or animation magazine? Upset that ReBoot never gets a feature spot in TV Guide? Write them and tell them that you'd like to see more coverage of ReBoot.

  • Thank the sponsors If you keep track of the companies advertising during ReBoot, you can probably track down their addresses fairly easily. You can write them and let them know you appreciate their decision to advertise during ReBoot.

  • Buy the merchandise Let your wallet do the talking. Like it or not, a big part of what makes a cartoon a "success" is whether or not products based on the show make money. Also, the more ReBoot products you buy, the more merchandise will likely be produced. Once you buy something, you might write to the company that made it to tell them you want more ReBoot products.

  • Vote in polls Sure, why not. When you see a poll along the lines of "What's your favorite TV show?" vote for ReBoot. The worst that'll happen is you'll have wasted 5 seconds.

  • Ask for more web goodies Whichever network you watch ReBoot on more than likely has a website. Thank the webmasters for any ReBoot content they have up, then ask for more. :)

  • Help newbies We were all new to the fandom once. Help newbies get their bearings. It requires some patience, but it's better than having a perfectly good ReBoot fan give up on the show because they were overwhelmed by newbie-ness.

  • Help the confused If you stumble across someone who is grossly misinformed about the state of ReBoot or the facts of the show, offer to politely answer their questions. Do what you can to stop the spread of misinformation and you'll be helping everyone. [Note to self: I really need a good WWII slogan there. "Loose lips..."? No, that's not right. I'll think of one later.]

  • Become a walking ad If you have any ReBoot shirts, hats, jewelry, etc. wear them. A lot. Cover your textbooks with ReBoot. Decorate your locker or dorm room or office with ReBoot. You can even make fliers that tell when and what channel ReBoot's on if you have somewhere to hang them.

  • Support Toonami If you watch ReBoot on CN and don't absolutely hate everything else in Toonami, you might as well support ReBoot by supporting the programming block it's in.

  • Keep watching Watch ReBoot. Watch it a lot. Especially if you have a Nielsen box.
