Fics I'll Probably Never Write

These are stories I've considered writing, if even for the briefest moment... Then I kinda gave up on 'em. Maybe because they would be too difficult or time-consuming, maybe because they'd be too stupid, or maybe I just didn't really feel like it. Still, I hate to throw ideas out, so I'll present them to you here. You know, just for the heck of it. *shrug*

If any of the fics ideas on this page disturb you (some of them disturb me), no complaining. Just be glad I never actually wrote them.
(Not-) Working TitleTypeThe Gist
Cyrano DeBobgeracCrossoverCyrano DeBergerac meets ReBoot.

Version 1: Bob would be Cyrano, Dot would be Roxane (no, I don't think Dot's shallow, but she is Bob's designated seat buddy & all). Now, here's something I find necessary, but some of you would probably think is just wacko... Matrix gets to be Christian. That's the way things seem to keep ending up in some of my ideas for crossovers with plays-- Matrix falls for his sister, or vice versa. I don't really have an issue with this, 'cause I wouldn't treat them as if they were ever brother and sister in those scenarios (it's just a story for cryin' out loud! And I'm not even gonna write it!)

Version 2: Okay, this is kinda cooler in my opinion, because it's not quite as obvious. Instead of Bob being Cyrano, the sympathetic hero, Megabyte would be. And Bob would be Christian. Heh heh heh... Bob does have the whole "good looking dork" thing going for him, and Megabyte is on a different scale of eloquence than the rest of the cast. Not to mention his nose is bigger than Bob's. Ohhhh, I could so see this happening. But it probably won't. :)

A Streetcar Named ReBootCrossoverA Streetcar Named Desire meets ReBoot.

This was more of a whim, so I never really thought much of it... But Hex is out of it enough to be Blanche, AndrAIa is dependent enough to be Stella, and Matrix is-- How do I say this without offending Matrix fans? I'll just say he could probably be Stanley. And if you know the story, well-- maybe that's why I stopped thinking about it. I'm weird, I know. But I also know when it's better to stop exploring an idea for my own sake.

Hexadecimal Hears a WhoCrossoverHorton Hears a Who meets ReBoot.

This idea's been floating around in my head ever since a newsgroup question about whether there might be sprites inside of the Mainframer's "computers." This would've been a Dr. Seuss style rhyming romp. Hex hears a sprite inside Dot's organizer, and snatches it away. She refuses to give it back even when everyone else says she's just crazy. *sigh* Boy, I'd still really like to do this one... Maybe someday.

Andi's Bad Hair DayComedyHave you ever noticed how adult AndrAIa's hair seems to move just on its own? I have, and I'd rather enjoy a story where it turns on her in a vicious attack. >:)

Bob's No Hair DayVery serious dramaOkay, listies, this one's for you: a story in which Bob admits he was actually bald under all that hair in the first two seasons. (Nyah!)

A Pain In the Boot
[Ouch! I know it's dumb! No hitting!]
ComedyBob has something stuck in his boot. That's it. That's the plot. (What? It's me, remember?)

The Marriage of... Oh, I don't know. Think of your own title.CrossoverThe Marriage of Figaro meets ReBoot.

Hmm... somewhere I have an old e-mail that helps explain where this idea came from, but mostly I think it was about wanting Bob to find out he's Hex's son and giving Enzo another chance to cross-dress. (The heck with theatrical tradition, this is a crossover!)

No TitleUnclassifiedWhere did little AndrAIa live when she was in Mainframe? This would be done in short parts, each one covering a different theory. Things like little Andi having her own apartment, Andi living in Dot and Enzo's bathtub, Andi living on the street 'cause no one really bothered to think about where to put her... (I can't help but think she may have been treated a little like a puppy-- cute to have around for a while, but no one really wants to take care of it... Maybe that's why she became so clingy as an adult. She was afraid Bob and Dot would drive her out to the countryside and just leave her there.)

The Women's Binome Liberation ArmyUnclassifiedHave you ever noticed how many more male binomes there seem to be than females? And how the CPU forces seem to be just guys? Well, my theory is that once upon a time, all the female binomes joined forces against some great evil when the guys were too chicken to. It was a great and glorious victory, but many of the WBLA members were deleted and the rest swore to live a life of peace from then on.

What? Stop looking at me like that! Sprites and viruses aren't the only ones worth writing about. (Not that I'll be writing this story either, but still...)

Phong's First Trip to the DinerComedyPoor guy... never gets to go anywhere. After the restart, you'd think he'd be allowed to go to Dot's Diner at least... Bet he'd have a good time, too. :)

Crazy for... um... I'm resisting the urge to say "Crazy for Bob" or "Crazy For Blue"CrossoverCrazy For You (anyone else ever heard of that "new Gershwin musical comedy"?) meets ReBoot.

You know, given 3 years and a government grant, I actually would've liked to do a total crossover of these two. But I guess it never was meant to be... ("What do you mean, 'grant application rejected due to lack of coherency and/or usefulness'!?") So I'll just give you the major cast members and a few of the highlights from my version of the musical:

Cast:
Bobby Child = Bob (Yeah, that was a tricky judgement call...)
Polly Baker = Dot
Bela Zangler = Matrix (Uh... of course it would mean Dot temporarily falls for her brother, but if you ignore that little detail you're all set.)
Tess = AndrAIa (the older one)
Irene = Mouse
Lank = Ray
Everett Baker = Phong
the Fodors = Hex & Megabyte (Mwhahahahaha! Ooh, that would be soo fun!)
Misc. cowboys and showgirls = Everybody else

Location:
The Supercomputer replaces New York City, and Mainframe replaces Deadrock, Nevada.

Highlights:
I won't go into plot details, 'cause if you don't know the original you just won't get it. But the whole thing would be a fun excuse to do a big production number called "I Got ReBoot," have Mouse sing "Naughty Baby" ("At the Academy I was on top of my class-- all the boys were underneath!"), have Bob walk around pretending he's Matrix, have Megabyte and Hex be forced to lead a cheery little fluff song, have Bob and Matrix get drunk and sing about their women troubles, further prove that ReBoot is a western at heart, and pair everyone up neatly again at the end. And possibly get some really cool looking poster art out of it, too.

UPDATE: Okay, I still haven't written it. But I have recast it. I don't know what I was thinking before. The accents line up so much better this way.
