Ode to Bob 1

The credits reeled,
Bob's fate was sealed. 2
I'd never felt so blue.

And ABC
Was to leave me
Hanging without a clue. 3

It would be years 4
Before my fears
Were finally put to rest--

When I could see
Whole season three.
Isn't CN the best? 5

But the show changed,
Something was strange.
There was a focus shift.

We would wade through
An arc or two
Before the fog would lift.

The subway said
That "Bob is dead." 6
I knew it wasn't true--

I'd felt that part
Deep in my heart.
(I read the spoiler, too.)

Bob's lost no more,
He's been restored.
And I am filled with joy.

Was worth the wait
'Cause it's great to
See my fav'rite blue boy.

But come Thursday
"End Prog" will play.
I know we're near the end. 7

He's come so far
It will be hard
To say, "Goodbye, my friend." 8
 

Okay, if you have no idea what I'm talking about, here's the notes for 'ya:

1. No, I'm not completely obsessed with Bob. I was just really, really glad when they brought him back (dorky boots and all!).

2. Don't know what I'm talking about? Better go watch "Web World Wars"!

3. ABC was the network which originally aired ReBoot in the US, but they stopped playing it after the "Web World Wars" cliffhanger.

4. And the third season wasn't even in Canada for a while after that... There was a killer wait to get ReBoot back in the US again.

5. I wrote this before CN made the cut in "Mousetrap." But I still like them for carrying ReBoot at all.

6. See the episode "Between a Raccoon and a Hard Place." The subway wall has "BOB IS DEAD" spraypainted backwards.

7. I wrote this just before CN's airing of the final episode, "End Prog." It originally ran on CN on a Thursday (5/6/99).
